Sharon Bailey
Physiotherapist

I have been a physiotherapist since graduating in New Zealand in 2010. Prior to this I had travelled and worked in a variety of roles, often rural. I came to physiotherapy because of an interest in massage and the power of therapeutic touch. As a physiotherapist I quickly became a Credentialed Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (McKenzie) therapist, and have enjoyed this approach to injury management.
I have worked extensively in the provision of stay-at-work and return-to-work services in New Zealand, as well as similar programs looking at long-term management after significant injury, including concussion and persistent pain presentations.
Post-graduate training:
- Barral Institute Neuromeningeal Manipulation 1
- Re-train Pain Course - focus on persistent pain
- Concussion Management workshop
- Vocational rehabilitation training
- Mulligan Concept training, levels A and B
- Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy training - Credentialed therapist since 2013
I intend to delve further into treating the whole body through the Barral framework, teaching at Focus Physio with other members of Staff, Diane Lee’s Whole systems approach and much more.
